Early-Game Spawner Tier List

This early-game spawner tier list is for the opening stretch of Build a Mob Farm—from first join through a stable convert loop and your first intentional merges. The game, also branded [VERITY] Build a Mob Farm by Swords and Grind (released 2026-09-09), asks you to buy spawners, convert loot into emeralds, merge toward rarer tiers, and leave the farm running offline. Early rankings therefore reward emerald speed, pad coverage, and merge fuel, not museum rarity.

Exact shop names and merge counts can change. We rank roles you can map onto whatever the live client shows. For how to spend after you pick a target, use Earn Emeralds and Merge Spawners. Parent context lives on the Tier List Hub.

Ranking key for early game

  • S-Tier — Core openers — Buy ASAP; form the backbone of online and offline income.
  • A-Tier — Strong supports — Add as soon as S-tier pads are not empty; great duplicate banks.
  • B-Tier — Situational — Take when on sale, granted by promos, or needed for a visible merge recipe.
  • C-Tier — Delay — Attractive rares or specialty pieces that drain the buffer before the engine exists.

S-Tier — Core openers

Cheapest reliable producers sit here. Whatever the UI labels the lowest purchaseable spawners that actually generate loot, those units win early because they:

  • Turn emeralds into immediate loot flow.
  • Fill pads so offline time is not wasted.
  • Duplicate naturally into merge fuel for the first rarity step.

Starter or tutorial spawners also belong in S if the game grants them—place immediately, never leave them unplaced while you window-shop.

Priority action: Spend your first emerald buffers on more of these until every available pad works. Read Getting Started if placement still feels confusing.

A-Tier — Strong supports

Mid-priced early shop options that clearly outproduce the cheapest line without emptying your wallet belong here. Buy them when:

  • All cheap pads are full, or
  • A single upgrade meaningfully raises convert speed without skipping the buffer rule.

Duplicate stacks of commons destined for the first merge also rate A as hold priority even if you are not buying more—do not casually sell or mis-merge them if the recipe is nearly complete.

Priority action: After S-tier coverage, add one A-tier producer at a time and remeasure emerald income via convert (Earn Emeralds).

B-Tier — Situational picks

Promo spawners from Codes — Rank jumps to A/S if they produce well; otherwise treat as merge fuel.

Odd mid-tier singles — Keep if they are the only piece blocking a cheap merge; otherwise convert value into more S/A pads.

Temporary fillers — Anything you plant just to avoid empty offline slots while saving for a planned buy.

Priority action: Accept B-tier when it solves a concrete problem (empty pad, missing merge piece). Do not build an identity around them.

C-Tier — Delay in the early game

High rarity showcase units you see on other plots in a six-player server.

Expensive shop rows that would zero your emerald buffer and leave multiple pads empty.

Speculative holds of random uniques that do not feed a known next merge.

These become interesting after convert is automatic and pads stay full through logouts (Offline Farming Tips). Early on they are traps.

Suggested buy order (first sessions)

  1. Place all free or tutorial spawners.
  2. Buy cheapest producers until pads are full.
  3. Convert on a short cadence; rebuild a buffer above the next price tag.
  4. Add one stronger early shop option if it raises income.
  5. Bank duplicates; complete one funded merge when safe (Merge Spawners).
  6. Refill any gaps created by the merge with S/A producers before chasing the next rarity.
  7. Logout with a full plot so offline grind matches this list’s pad-value bias.

Offline slant of the early list

Because spawners keep grinding while away, early S and A picks are also your overnight team. A C-tier rare alone in a half-empty plot underperforms a full board of openers. Before bed, audit pads against this list, not against someone else’s flex.

When to stop using the early list

Graduate toward Mid and Late-Game Spawner Priorities when:

  • Convert is automatic,
  • You can refill pads after merges without stress,
  • Emerald buffers recover quickly,
  • You are choosing between mid rarities rather than “can I afford any second spawner?”

Until then, stay disciplined. Revisit the Tier List Hub for new lists as they publish, and watch Updates for shop rebalances that might promote a former C-tier into situational B.

Early-game excellence is boring on purpose: full pads, steady converts, merges only when surplus exists. Follow that and rarer tiers arrive as a consequence—not a gamble.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What should I buy with my first emeralds?

Fill pads with the cheapest reliable producers (S-tier openers), then convert often. See Getting Started and Earn Emeralds.

When do rare spawners become worth it?

After pads stay full and merges are funded without wiping income. Until then, treat flashy rares as C-tier delays—details in Merge Spawners.

How does this list handle offline play?

Prioritize total working spawners overnight. Pair with Offline Farming Tips so claims convert into the next S/A buys.

Where is the full tier list index?

Open the Tier List Hub for criteria and additional lists as they are added.
